Finished Quilt

Well, I have been promising to post a photo of the last quilt I completed. It is a scrap quilt that I used many very small scraps in. I hope you like it and if you have any questions let me know.

Fulfilling My Promise

Well, I have been telling you all that I would be adding pictures for a while and so I am finally doing it. I have the Birthday Blocks I am getting from my friends at the quilting forum I am on and I can't find the name of it right now and my fibro memory is not working. I have one from Canada, two from Australia, and then the others are from the US right now. I am expecting more to come in so I will post them as they come in.

A New Day

Just for fun I have added one of the blocks I was teaching in my block of the month. I hope you like it.
Well, I had a meeting with my boss today and we discussed my job and the fact that I will not be working in the store any longer. I will be teaching though as I have in the past only she has decided to add some other teachers not be cause I have not done a good job, but because the other teachers have promised to bring with them loyal customers who have been in their classes before at other stores. My teaching has been mostly at the church and on line so I did not have the following for her when I came and I am lost as to how to build up that kind of following. I do have a wonderful reputation with teaching children how to sew. That is what I will be doing for now. I will also have classes teaching adults to sew , but they will not be on the schedule they will be one on one and as needed. I look forward to those kinds of classes, because the ones taking them are also working on something they want to do. They often find after one or two classes that they are able to do it on their own and I just gave them the confidence to try. I enjoy that almost as much as I enjoy teaching children and quilting. I do love to teach quilting. That is my real desire but I will do what I can until the opportunity arises for me to do what I want. Along that line I want to promise that I will try very hard to figure out how to write out the method of binding I do and how to make mitered corners for those who may still be taking my beginning quilting class from earlier in the blog. I have the pictures taken of the quilt I finished last night but still have not gotten them on the computer. I will try to do that tomorrow. Then I will get back to work on the black and white quilt which I have added red to. I am excited about it and hope to have it finished by the end of the weekend. I of course will make pictures and share them when I get them on the computer as well. I guess that is gonna be all for today have a wonderful evening of quilting.

Post Birthday Comments

Well, I had a birthday last week and I am in a Birthday block exchange with my friends on line. I am getting beautiful squares in the mail from all over the world. I have about half of them now and I will begin posting photos of them in a day or two. I have not gotten a chance to take the photos yet. One of the ladies gave me a wonderful little wall hanging with a cute embroidery on it that says "I am a material girl" I will put that in the pictures too. I also had the most wonderful gift from God in my back yard. My amaryllis are in full bloom and they are gorgeous to see out my back window everyday. I have taken pictures I will share. My daughter who went away to college and then got married and her hubby came home for the evening. We all went out for drinks at the local Applebee's. It also happens to be the place my hubby and I go every week for date night. My other two girls who live at home were there with us. My mother and my best friend and her mom all took me out to lunch. We had a lovely lunch and the food was great. The next day my other daughter who is married and lives out of state and her family all called me to wish me a happy birthday. Then on the weekend my son came to spend some time with us and to go to a car show. I also lost my job, so it was a very eventful week and weekend. On the one hand my source of income is gone, but my son and his sister and I all put our heads together and came up with a business opportunity that I would like to do. I don't currently have the money, to do it however I am looking into finding financing. I will go further into this if I can find the financing.
I won't be so long getting back on this week. I have a quilt almost completed, that I will post photos of when I get it completed. Then hopefully I will have another project completed to show you, before Thurs. Time will tell.

Easter

Well, tomorrow is Easter and my little girl is home with her hubby. They have not gotten to come together for a long time, he works on the weekends and she works during the week. It is a good time to spend with family as we remember the resurrection of our Lord. The blue bonnets are blooming it is odd how no matter what month Easter is in the Blue Bonnets know it is time to bloom. They decorate our lovely state with blue on the hills and the highways. You see families with their little girls and boys all dressed up out sitting in the Blue Bonnets taking pictures. I have done the same thing myself and my girls tell everyone about the experience. They always tell how I would put them in the ant bed with their eyes in the sun and then make them smile so I could get a great picture. I hate to admit it but I did just that.
Some day I want to make a quilt with the blue bonnets on the hills and the beautiful wild flowers that grow with them. I have let the idea of a landscape quilt intimidate my, but I am not going to always be intimidated by it. I have taken a few classes recently and I think I can do it now. When I do I will post the pictures for you to see.
Have a wonderful Easter.

Blogging

Well, I have spent the last few days reading and looking at other blogs to see how this is really done. I have even started a new blog on a different site. I am putting different content in the new blog so if you find it you won't be bored. I am not posting the title of that one right now because I have a feeling they may start charging me for it in the future and if they do I will shut it down and add the blogs from there here. It all sounds a little confusing but it isn't really.
I have to find a way to bring in more money and if blogging will help then maybe I should do more of it. I might even write a book, if I could find someone to edit it for me. I have some great ideas about lots of things and it seems like a lot of people are making money doing the things I find I love to do. I make my own patterns for the things I make most of the time so why not try to sell some of them. Patterns as well as pre-made items. I am still doing a lot of research on all of this and my middle daughter wants me to stop and help her make banana nut bread so I guess I will.

Spring is Here and I love It

Well, I have seen so many add the lovely flowers from their yards and I wanted to add my own. So this is a short post and some lovely flowers from my front yard.
I have to tell you I didn't pose the cat she was there when I came into the living room and I just got lucky and caught it with the camera. Fun to have cats around.

Another day another NCIS

Well, as I sit here watching my favorite TV show that is NCIS I have been thinking a lot about my blog and the new things I want to do for you all. I know I don't have many who follow my blog and that is too bad, I guess maybe it is my inability to show up daily and write. Well, things change and that may be changing as well. My job is on the line right now and I may need a new source of income. I think this blog could be the beginning of that. I know I still have not added the lessons on bindings and mitered corners. I have to tell you I have started them more than once and I don't seem to be able to write it up in a way that I feel would be easy to read. Then I try again and I can't seem to get it right. I do have the photos ready to post. I just need to see if I can write it up in a better way.
I do have a quilt I finished last month and I will add it today, I hope you enjoy it. I was not excited about the fabric selection, but then I did like the outcome. I was not the one who quilted it, and I think I would have done it differently if I had, but it is done and I had not choice about it. That is another story and I won't go into it.
Well, I hope you will come back and join me as I try to make this a better place to stop by and visit.
