Spring is Here and I love It

Well, I have seen so many add the lovely flowers from their yards and I wanted to add my own. So this is a short post and some lovely flowers from my front yard.
I have to tell you I didn't pose the cat she was there when I came into the living room and I just got lucky and caught it with the camera. Fun to have cats around.

Another day another NCIS

Well, as I sit here watching my favorite TV show that is NCIS I have been thinking a lot about my blog and the new things I want to do for you all. I know I don't have many who follow my blog and that is too bad, I guess maybe it is my inability to show up daily and write. Well, things change and that may be changing as well. My job is on the line right now and I may need a new source of income. I think this blog could be the beginning of that. I know I still have not added the lessons on bindings and mitered corners. I have to tell you I have started them more than once and I don't seem to be able to write it up in a way that I feel would be easy to read. Then I try again and I can't seem to get it right. I do have the photos ready to post. I just need to see if I can write it up in a better way.
I do have a quilt I finished last month and I will add it today, I hope you enjoy it. I was not excited about the fabric selection, but then I did like the outcome. I was not the one who quilted it, and I think I would have done it differently if I had, but it is done and I had not choice about it. That is another story and I won't go into it.

Black and White

Well, as I said last time I am working on a black and white quilt for a friend and today I can say I have all except three blocks complete all in the midst of my sweet hubby working on helping me get organized in the sewing room. I think if I can work in there this week like I am expecting to I will be able to get it completed and made into a top before the end of the week.I have to say I do love the flying geese method I learned from Eleanore Burns. They come out right every time I just wish I had the formula so I could make them for any size I want to make. I will post some pictures of this one when it is a top.
I had thought I was getting my room all straightened out and then I went in there today after not being in there in two days. Oh, my I still have a long way to go on the whole organization thing. I feel like I can do this, even though I must admit organization is not my strong point ever. I am excited to see the future even though there are problems in my today's. I am looking at the things wrong and making the effort to change them.

Quilt for a friend

I have been working on a black and white quilt for several months now and I am still working on it. I really thought it would be complete by now. I have had quilts that were trouble in the past, but this one has been the worst ever. I am making 24 squares, 12 of one kind and 12 of another. I have yet to complete the first 12. I worked on them today and I was up to the last four half square triangles. I started to put them on and realized that I had made a mistake and I had to go back a round and redo them. So instead of finishing the first 12 squares I am not there yet. I have them all redone now so I just have to put the last four on. I am down to 6 to go. Such a frustrating day. Such a day such a day. I did however complete the projects for the classes I am teaching. I will need to make two more for the next set of classes. I have students for all of the classes I am working on this month and they are all very excited about them.

What is going on!!

Hey, I have been out of commision for the last few weeks so to speak. I have seen a couple of Dr.'s and had X-rays and spent lots of money. Then I came to the conclusion that they were not making things any better and took it into my own hands. I seem to have a sprained knee and I am doing some threapy exercises to see if it will get better. Sure enough it is, but still haven't gotten on the computer.
I have done a lot of sewing and gotten a wall hanging and some gifts for my family made. I have pictures but with the new camera I have not figured it out yet. I mostly need to get it in the same room with the computer, and haven't yet. I will make every attempt to do that this week and get them posted here.
I have taken a class in blogging and learned some great things. I will be making some changes on the blog too in the near future. I work tomorrow night so it will be later in the week. I do hope all of you will have a wonderful week and come back soon to see the photos and the new stuff.

Days since I was on

Well, I have been busy with work and I have also been reading too much. LOL I have enjoyed ii, but I seem to forget my resposebilites and the things I want to do and need to do. I have started six little bags for my girls. Two for a daughter who lives with me and two each for my grand daughters. I will try to finish them tomorrow so i can get them in the mail for Valentine. I am also in a birthday exchange and I have it cut and half made for the next one. I must finish it and get it in the mail. I have no idea how long it takes to mail to Canada.

Super Bowl Sunday

Well, I have been watching the game and enjoying it as well as looking at the blogs of many of the new friends I have on line. I have much to learn about blogging and I am enjoying the lessons I am taking with Chris. I have been so busy I have not gotten to read all of the lessons yet. I will try to get one of the lessons read tonight and them maybe tomorrow I will have some time to post some photos of the stuff I have been so busy working on. I have been making quilted bags and not quilts right now. I do need to make one as a sample for the next class I am teaching in March. I have discovered that if I have time to make samples more people sign up for classes. I have known that would be the way things would go if I could just get ahead enough to make the samples. However my boss has a bad habit of giving me a class two weeks before it is going to happen and then I am in the middle of another project so I don't get the sample made and no one signs up for the class. I am loving the three fabric challenge I am working on too. I had no idea I could ever make a art quilt and it is exciting to try one that is a challenge. Three fabrics is hard.
Well, I have to go for tonight so I will like I said try to get some photos on the computer so I can post them. I have just gotten a new camera so I am still learning it. Have a blessed day!!!
